BENEFITS OF LOBIA ::
Lentils, particularly cowpea or black-eyed peas (Lobia), are nutritious and beneficial for vegetarians. They contain essential vitamins and minerals, provide instant energy, increase muscle mass, and strengthen bones. Lobia can aid in weight loss, control blood sugar levels, improve digestion, and boost immunity.
INGREDIENTS ::
1. Lobia
2. Cumin seeds
3.Whole garam masala
4. Dry red chilli
5. Onion
6. Ginger garlic paste
7. Tomato paste
8. Turmeric powder
9. Red chilli powder
10. Kashmiri red chilli powder
11. Chana masala
12. Salt
13. Sugar or jaggery powder
14. Dry mango powder
15. Lemon juice
16. Dry fenugreek leaves
17. Oil
Preparation ::
1. Soak lobia (black eyed pea) 8-9 hrs
2. Wash & pressure cook soaked lobia until 2 whistle.
3. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, Whole garam masala & dry red chilli as tempering.
4. Saute for few seconds until it release aroma.
5. Add chopped onion. Fry until it gets translucent.
6. Then add ginger garlic paste & tomato paste. Cook until oil separate from masala.
7. Add all dry spices. Turmeric, red chilli powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, chana masala & salt. Add little water & cook until oil separate from masala.
8. Then add boiled lobia, Mix well. Add tomato ketchup mix well
9. Add dry mango powder, sugar & Kasuri methi (dry fenugreek leaves).
Add hot water & cook on high flame for 1- 2 mins.
10. At last add lemon juice & turn off the flame.
11. Garnish with chopped green chilli & onion.
You can also Add chopped coriander.
Enjoy Lobia Masala Curry with roti, paratha, rice or Naan.
