Method:

Soak the chana dal for 1 hour
Pressure cook dal, potato and peas together
put them all in a bowl. Mix oats, onions, green chillies, coriander leaves, grated carrots, ginger, salt and spice powder.
Mix them all well.
Prepare them into cutlet
Pour oil for shallow frying in a pan.

Oats are considered to be extremely healthy. We have made several recipes on our channel earlier and you can check them out. This video is all about a healthy and a tasty snack that you can make with rolled oats easily. These oats cutlets also have a few vegetables and you can add whichever vegetable you like to this recipe. These cutlets are so much fun and kids would definitely love their crunchy texture on the outside. I have shallow fried these cutlets but you can also bake them or air fry them if you want even less oil on them. You can enjoy these cutlets with tomato ketchup or mint coriander chutney. With Navaratri round the corner a fasting recipe is must. We already have seen lot many fasting recipes like sabudana vade, sabudana appe, farali kachori, are few of them. Here is a little different farali recipe appe. It is a very easy and simple recipe. These donтАЩt need lot many ingredients. These can be made from the ingredients easily available in your pantry. These turn out nice, crispy and spongy. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.

Ingredients:
тАв 1 cup Sama ke chaval / Vrat ke chaval
тАв 1/4 cup Sabudana / Sago
тАв A little Water
тАв Cumin seeds (Optional)
тАв Finely chopped Green chili
тАв Finely chopped Coriander leaves
тАв 1/2 tsp Eno fruit salt
тАв Oil
тАв Ghee
тАв Salt to taste
тАв Finely chopped fresh Coconut
тАв Chopped Green chili
тАв Chopped Ginger
тАв Salt to taste
тАв Sugar
тАв 1 tsp roasted Peanut powder
тАв 1 tsp Ghee
тАв Cumin seeds

Method:
тАв Take sama ke chaval, sabudana in a bowl and wash it really good 2-3 times.
тАв Soak it together in enough water for 2 hours.
тАв Drain all the water from it and transfer it into a blender jar.
тАв Blend it into paste without adding any water first.
тАв Add water and blend again into thick paste.
тАв The consistency of batter should be like idly batter.
тАв Transfer the batter into a bowl and rest it for about 10 minutes.
тАв Add cumin seeds, green chili, salt, coriander leaves and mix well.
тАв You can add grated potato or grated sweet potato or grated pumpkin if you want into the
batter.
тАв Add Eno fruit salt and mix in quickly.
тАв Heat up appe aptra and add oil in each mold.
тАв Add batter in each mold.
тАв Cover and cook on medium for about 3-4 minutes.
тАв When lower side is cooked well after about 3-4 minutes add a little ghee on each appe and
flip it over.
тАв You can use oil in place of ghee.
тАв When appe are cooked well from other side too take them out into a dish.
тАв Appe are ready.
тАв For making farali chutney take fresh coconut into a blender jar and add green chili, ginger,
salt, sugar, roasted peanut powder, coriander leaves.
тАв You can soak desiccated coconut in hot water for about 10-15 minutes and use it for chutney
in place of fresh coconut.
тАв You can skip coriander leaves if you donтАЩt want.
тАв Blend everything together dry first and then add a little water.
тАв Blend everything together into chutney.
тАв Transfer the chutney into a bowl.
тАв For tadka heat up ghee in tadka pan and add cumin seeds.
тАв When cumin seeds splatter add the tadka on chutney and mix well.
тАв Farali chutney is ready.
тАв You can have farali appe as it is or them with chutney.

Tok dal

Ingredients:
Masoor dal 1 cup
Raw mango 2 pcs
Water as required
Oil 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds ┬╜ tbsp
Dry red chilli 2 pcs
Green chilli 3 pcs
Salt ┬╜ tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Sugar 1 tbsp

Method:

Preparation of Tok Dal:

1. Start by preparing the dal. In a pressure cooker, add water, masoor dal (red lentils), and salt according to taste. Close the lid and pressure cook for 2-3 whistles, or until the dal is soft and cooked through.
2. In a separate pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add mustard seeds, green chilli, and dry red chilli. Allow them to crackle and release their flavours.
3. Add raw mango slices to the pan and saut├й them until they begin to soften.
4. Pour in some water and cover the pan with a lid. Allow the mango slices to cook until they become mushy and tender.
5. Once the raw mango is cooked, remove half of the slices from the pan and set them aside. Mash the remaining cooked mango slices in the pan using a spoon or spatula.
6. Return the mashed mango to the pan. Add the cooked dal, turmeric powder, sugar, and some additional water if needed to achieve the desired consistency.
7. Stir the mixture well and let it come to a boil. Then, reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes, allowing the flavours to meld together.

Serving Tok Dal:

8. Once the Tok Dal is ready, transfer it to a serving bowl.
9. For added richness and flavour, drizzle some ghee on top of the dal.
10. Serve the Tok Dal hot alongside steamed rice, allowing the comforting flavours to complement each other perfectly.

With its tangy mango flavour and creamy texture, this Tok Dal is sure to be a delightful addition to any meal.

Raw mango rasam

Ingredients:
Oil 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds ┬╜ tbsp
Green chilli slit 1 pc
Curry leaves 6-8 pcs
Ginger chopped 1 tbsp
Tomato chopped 1 cup
Raw mango ┬╜ cup
Hing 1 tsp
Tur dal boiled 1 cup
Rasam powder 2 tbsp
Salt ┬╜ tbsp
Jaggery powder 1 tbsp

Tempering:
Oil 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds ┬╜ tbsp
Curry leaves 6-8 pcs

Rasam powder :
Dry red chillies 5-6 pcs
Black pepper 20-25 pcs
Methi seeds ┬╜ tbsp
Coriander 4 tbsp
Jeera 2 tbsp
Chana dal 1 tbsp
Tur dal 2 tbsp
Hing 1 tsp
Curry leaves 12-15 pcs

Method:

For Rasam Powder:
1. Heat a pan over low flame.
2. Add all the ingredients for rasam powder.
3. Toast them gently until they release their aroma and turn slightly golden brown.
4. Once done, remove from heat and let it cool down completely.
5. Transfer the cooled ingredients into a mixer jar.
6. Grind them into a fine powder.
7. Keep the rasam powder aside for later use.

For Mango Rasam:
1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
2. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and slit green chili. Allow them to crackle.
3. Next, add chopped ginger and saut├й for a minute.
4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
5. Now, add raw mango slices and a pinch of hing (asafoetida). Cook until the mango softens.
6. Add boiled tur dal (pigeon peas), water, the prepared rasam powder, salt, and a small amount of jaggery to balance the flavours.
7. Allow the mixture to come to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for a few minutes.

For Tadka (Tempering):
1. In a separate small pan, heat some oil.
2. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
3. Once the mustard seeds start crackling, carefully pour this tempering over the prepared mango rasam.
4. Sprinkle some extra rasam powder on top for added flavour.
5. Give it a gentle stir to incorporate the flavours.

Serve:
Delicious and tangy raw mango rasam is now ready to be served hot alongside steamed rice or enjoyed as a soup on its own. Enjoy the burst of flavours!
